Clinical Herbalism and the Compounding Apothecary with Megan Matthers

Today I had the distinct pleasure of speaking to and learning from Megan Matthers, owner and head Clinical Herbalist at Heart Hand Land Apothecary in Northern Vermont.

Megan is a clinically trained herbalist, medicine maker and conscious wild crafter. She grew up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada’s where she spent many years exploring the bio regions of Northern California, Nevada and the mountain west. She now resides on Abenaki land in Northeastern Vermont with her family. Megan runs Heart Hand Land, an herbal apothecary that fills formulas for practitioners, provides educational opportunities and is growing into so much more. Megan’s goal within her community is to use herbalism to promote health and create stronger community, build trust in ourselves, our neighbors, and the natural world right outside our doors.

In todays episode we talk about what clinical herbalism is, why its important, and what Megan is offering to her community locally and from afar.
